Marjorie Yang is the Chairman of Esquel Group, a knowledge-based innovation company that continuously pushes for positive change in the textile and apparel business, expanding into new territory to evolve with the industry and its customers. As a strong believer in sustainable development and environmental conservation, Marjorie is a member of the High Level Steering Committee of UN Global Compact Action Platform on “Sustainable Infrastructure for the Belt and Road Initiative to accelerate the SDGs”, the Executive Council of UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) Sustainable Business Network (ESBN) and the Advisory Council of China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development (CCICED). She is a member of the Chief Executive’s Council of Advisers on Economic Advancement and Sustainability, Hong Kong, China’s representative to APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) and Executive Board member of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). She has a Bachelor of Science degree from MIT and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Shaun is a reformed lawyer who has worked across private equity and venture capital before turning towards entrepreneurial efforts. Graduating from the University of Bristol with an LLB, he started his career as a debt financing lawyer then took up a role executing deals in Southeast Asia for Partners Group, a Swiss private investment firm. After working across Private Equity, Private Debt, Infrastructure and Real Estate verticals with Partners Group, he co-founded a venture capital fund with partners from Blackstone, Kuok Group and Dymon. When the fund was acquired, Shaun transitioned into a fully entrepreneurial role as the co-founder of an e-commerce startup, AAD. He led a restructuring and exit of the company in 2021 and now manages a family office that focuses on helping strong teams pursue their dreams of changing the world. Shaun continues to work closely with these teams, leveraging the breadth of his experience to position them for success in a global environment.
Erik Jonsson is the Vietnam-based Partner of Antler, a global early-stage VC and a strategic investor and partner of BUYO. Erik started his career in London's Square Mile as an investment banker after graduating with a degree in Investment and Financial Risk Management. After a month's trip to Vietnam in 2008, he fell in love with the country and decided to permanently move there in 2011-in fact, just crossing the decade-long milestone as a Vietnam resident a few months ago. He spent his first year in Vietnam with Vietnam Investments Group in the private equity space and subsequently ventured down the entrepreneurial path as Founder/Co-founder/CEO with five different ventures, including Zalora Vietnam. He was identified as one of Sweden's tech super talents by Dagens Industri in 2016. Erik is based in Ho Chi Minh City and is leading Antler's presence in Vietnam.
Mr. Phuong Hoang is the Former Country Head of AB InBev Vietnam and serves as a member of the Management Committee of BU India and South East Asia. Before being named GM in January 2021, Phuong was the AB InBev VIetnam's Commercial Director and was responsible for all the company's nationwide sales and operations, including end-to-end management of the commercial strategies, resources, and activities for driving the profitable growth. Prior to joining AB InBev Vietnam, Phuong worked at Asia Pacific Brewery as the Senior Brand Manager for Heineken and at Tien Phong Bank as the lead of Marketing and PR department.
Mr Chau is the Deputy CEO and Factory Manager of Kien Nam Packaging Company, a packaging manufacturer with over 15 years of experience in the industry and active operations in the Ho Chi Minh City area. He is advising BUYO on factory setup, machinery and equipment, product development and operation management issues.
